We also asked Jane, the proprietor, what were some the frequently asked questions she received from customer. Here is her list. Click on the question to see her response.

How long have you been trading?
Kamenka has been trading since 1999. I begun it 9 years ago in a small shop only 100 yards from where I am now. Regular customers have moved with me and obviously the larger store has caught the eye of new customers who had not noticed it before or had been unable to get parked.

Is there plenty of parking?
There is a large car park for approximately 40 cars

Do you display every piece of furniture in every range?
We try to show a selection of each range, obviously we still do not have the room to display every piece but catalogues showing the full range are available to browse through at your leisure.

Is all the furniture made of solid wood?
The majority of the furniture is solid wood. We have ranges in oak, sheesham (Indian rosewood), acacia, Indonesian pine and mango fruitwood. However we also have individual pieces that compliment all of the above.

Do you stock any painted ranges of furniture?
Yes, we have some on display but again it is only a small example of the ranges available

Is the furniture flat-packed?
Most of the furniture is ready-assembled with only the handles needing to be screwed into place. However dining tables will require legs to be bolted on. If this was not the case we would be unable to get them into peoples houses. The same applies with wardrobes, some will be in sections for easy accessibility and will dismantle to allow customers to take them upstairs.

Is the furniture in stock for immediate availability?
Some of the smaller pieces of furniture are available for customers to take away. Due to lack of storage space most is available on order.

How long for the furniture to be in stock?
Most of the items are in stock within 2 – 4 weeks, occasionally selected items may take longer but we are happy to check with suppliers to confirm these lead times before orders are placed.

How much deposit is required for an order to be place?
A minimum of 25% deposit is required on all orders placed. This is non-refundable.

Do you accepts credit cards?
Yes, we accept all major cards, visa, mastercard etc., with the exception of American Express.

Do you have a delivery service?
Yes a delivery service is available.
We do not believe in hiding this charge in our retail prices, therefore to keep our prices down we give customers the option to collect or use the deivery service that starts from as little as £15.

Can you store furniture until it is required?
We have limited storage space but we are happy to work with the customer to ensure it will be in stock for when it is required, e.g. moving home dates, decorating schedules etc.

What happens if a customer changes their mind about a purchase?
If the items are a special order (e.g. a specific painted finish) we are unable to offer a refund or exchange. However if a piece of furniture is off the shop floor and is a stock item we are happy to offer an exchange or credit note. A refund is only offered if furniture is found to be faulty.
